MONTSERRADO EXPEDITION DECAL

The country of Liberia is divided into 15 counties, each one administered by a superintendent that is appointed by the country's president. Whenever you ask someone in Liberia where they're from, they will almost always refer to their county of their birth, sharing names such as Lofa, Nimba and Gbarpolu. These names are more than just geographic areas: they are connections to lineage and cultural, and each is represented by its own unique flag.

Home to Liberia's capital city of Monrovia, Montserrado County is the country's center of government, development and commerce. During the Liberia's fourteen-year civil war in the 1990s and early '00s, tens of thousands of people fled the country's interior and their counties of origin to seek refuge and opportunity in the capital. Montserrado has since become an amalgamation of people and places.

Our stylized translation of Montserrado's county flag flies in support of all those who have found themselves making a new life in a new place, whatever that may mean or look like. It's for those who have embraced possibility with open arms, leaving behind the safe and familiar. If you have ever found yourself in such a place, you have found yourself in Montserrado.

Made to hold up in the elements, this sticker is water and UV-resistant.
