FADED CHAMBRAY TRADE BEADS (LONG STRAND)

Nearly a century ago, on the edge of Venetian canals, an artisan carefully crafted each bead that adorns these strands. From his skilled hands they made their way south, sailing along the southern coast of Malta and across the Mediterranean to the shores of North Africa. Whether they landed in Tunisia or Morocco matters little: for a hundred years they criss-crossed the sands of a different sea, the Sahara. Over time their bright indigo hues softened to a more muted chambray, their surfaces pitted by sand and time. At the western edge of the great desert these beads finally found their way to us...and now you. 

Each strand is made of individually crafted antique glass beads and strung together on a heavy-spun vintage cord. They can be worn as-is or restrung on cording material of your choice.
