BRASS & BONE BEAD KEYHOOK

Our keyhooks are created in the style used by Japanese fisherman to help prevent loosing their keys while out on the water. Made of solid brass, the belt hook and key ring are substantially built: if you lose your keys with this rugged piece of hardware, it's likely you lost your pants along with them (which, by the way, is a story we definitely want to hear).

We have adorned this essential piece of hardware with a bead handcrafted in Africa from recycled animal bone. Once the marrow is removed and consumed, the bone is cleaned, filled with a wooden plug and cut to size. The beads are then dyed using a batik wax-relief process, and finally hand-polished. We secure each bead with a length of rich brown leather cording.
